Animas Resources Ltd announces preliminary geochemical interpretations and Targeting at Santa Gertrudis, Mexico

Animas Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: ANI) ("Animas" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the geological team is completing targeting for the next round of drilling. Animas will drill approximately 10,000 meters in 2009. The targets selected are focused on the most attractive large targets.

The geologic mapping of much of the main portion of the district is nearing completion and Dr. Jeff Jaacks has provided Animas with his initial interpretations of the extensive rock and soil sample data set. Animas has collected over 2,000 surface rock samples and the historic date base consists of well over 29,900 rock samples and 20,000 soil samples. The combination of favorable geology, wide spread alteration, high precious and halo element mineralization, and responsive geophysics at 1) Toro - Gregorio, 2) Mirador, 3) Greta - Tigre, and 4) La Bonita - Lixivian makes these separate project areas our highest priority. Specific drill targets are being further refined with detailed geophysical electrical surveys, detailed geologic cross sections and further review of the geochemistry, geology and geophysical data sets. The detailed Induced Polarization(IP) survey over the Toro - Gregorio target area is being completed. The data processing and 2D modeled interpretation of this survey will be available shortly.

Dr. Jaacks commented in his preliminary report that "The anomalies outlined are the clusters of soil gold anomalies. Arsenic in soils provides useful guides for targeting. All of the known deposits are contained within the arsenic contours. On another note, scandium and vanadium, resulting from the destruction of mafic minerals, indicate that there may be a deep seated intrusive system between Amelia and El Toro Norte. The gold deposits, Amelia, Trinidad, Santa Teresa Este, Viviana, El Toro Norte, and La Vibora are all on the periphery of this signature. Iron in soils forms a halo around this signature and the deposits are all about the periphery of this feature. The system appears similar to the Greta - Tigre hornfels target area. A later stage mineralization has remobilized the gold from this system into NW structural systems as can be seen from the NW linears crosscutting this iron in soils feature".

Gregory McKelvey, President & CEO of Animas commented "It is indeed exciting to have collaborative data and ideas all pointing to specific targets which have the potential for large gold deposits. Independent data and verifies quality targets provides Animas with the necessary tools to focus future drilling. With a mining district as large as Santa Teresa, we cannot test all the ideas and anomalies. These new interpretations outline what may identify the centers of mineralization."

Durango Geophysical Operations is currently collecting electrical conductivity information over the Toro - Gregorio alteration and surface gold in rock anomaly target .
